St. Scholastica’s Kindergarten is a Catholic based kindergarten that provides sessions for 3 and 4 year old groups. The early childhood program is inspired by the theory of emergent curriculum, with a strong focus on the role and value of learning through the children’s interests and ideas. We also value the important role that relationships play in children’s education. Children are encouraged to work at their own pace, to explore and extend their own learning, so that their love of learning is fostered.
We value and recognise that parents are children’s first educators and that they play an important element in their life at their kindergarten. We encourage parents and families to become involved in all aspects of the kindergarten, as working in partnership with educators helps to reach a common goal of assisting the children to reach their full potential. Parents have the opportunity to join the Committee and have a voice in the organisation of the Kindergarten.
Being part of the St. Scholastica’s Parish allows the children to participate in regular interaction with the school and the children are allocated a school buddy and are involved in school celebrations, helping with their transition into Primary School. As a Catholic kindergarten, we do offer the children a religious perspective and have access to our parish church.
Kindergarten tours are available.
