Sacraments for Children

We are excited that you have made this decision for your child to walk the journey of faith together with our community.

The sacraments are a sign of Jesus' presence in our lives and are a means for receiving his supernatural power, which helps us to fulfil our true calling, and lead us into a deeper way of being our true selves. They help us appreciate God's presence within us and within our daily lives. God touches our lives through the sacraments.

To help you understand the process we have put in place at St Scholastia's, the following information is important:

  1. The reception of the sacraments generally occurs in these year levels:
    • First Reconciliation is usually celebrated in Year 3
    • First Eucharist is usually celebrated in Year 4
    • Confirmation is usually celebrated in Year 6

  2. There are various preparation sessions involved with each sacrament, and to ensure that your child is properly prepared for this significant moment in their life, all sessions are mandatory. There are also some activity sheets to be completed at home.

For more information on the sacraments or to register your children, please click on the relevant sacrament below.
